BROT UND_ CARE

Workshop by LIZ RECH TERESA MONFARED
16.05.2024 | 10:30 - 12:30 | Kampnagel - K31

People with care responsibilities - whether for children, the elderly or sick relatives - experience producing in the independent performing arts as a permanent challenge. It is not uncommon for highly qualified artists to leave the field after a while because they are fed up with the balancing act between precarious everyday production and care work.

Many of the obstacles lie in the production routines of the independent performing arts themselves. Transforming these in such a way that barriers for parents and other people with care responsibilities are removed on both the production and reception side is an issue for the future of the scene. Family-friendliness is only one part of many anti-discrimination struggles in the social fabric of theatre. As co-initiators of the Artist Lab WITH CARE. Action Lab between Theatre, Audiences and Care Work (2023) and the Toolkit WITH CARE, Teresa Monfared (set designer) and Liz Rech (director) will present key aspects of the toolkit and current cultural policy initiatives.

For performers in the independent performing arts.

Supervision room for carers and cooking facilities available, playground within walking distance.

Registration at: tanzplan2@kampnagel.de
