How do you successfully plan and communicate with the technology for your performance? What creative possibilities does lighting design offer and how can you develop your own concept? Under the direction of Lars Kracht, this practical workshop provides an introduction to the basic equipment and technical possibilities in the areas of sound, video, stage and lighting. It will cover the most important rules for setting up and operating the technology, planning and coordinating with technicians and low-budget solutions that allow you to manage the event yourself without a technical team. A special focus is placed on lighting design - from the basics to developing your own lighting design. Practical exercises are also offered, such as programming Astera lamps or illuminating different light sources. The workshop is aimed at actors in the independent scene who want to expand their technical skills and discover creative design possibilities for their productions.

Workshop leader:
Lars Kracht (*1993) studied time-based media in Hamburg. In 2017, he took over the position of Technical Director of the Fringify Festival Hamburg. As a creative addition to the technical side, he started his profession as a lighting designer in 2018. He was responsible for the lighting design for plays by Ursina Tossi, Barbara Schmidt-Rohr and Yolanda Morales, among others, and always tries to create synergies between stage design, dramaturgy and lighting. Lars communicates the relevance of lighting design for the overall work of performance, stage, music and light at an early stage. He is interested in what happens between the scenes and how the rhythm of the lighting design synchronizes with the performance. His works have been shown at Kampnagel Hamburg, Tanzplattform, Tanzfaktur Köln, Ballhaus Berlin and the Fusion Festival, among others.
