A workshop for current and former INTRO fellows, emerging artists in the independent performing arts, and all other interested participants.
How does an idea become a concept? What lies at the core of an idea, and how can we identify its central elements? In this workshop, we will explore together how to assess the feasibility of artistic ideas: What resources and timeframes are needed? How can speculative thinking be connected to concrete production conditions? Based on your own project ideas, we’ll reflect on key parameters of concept development, considering both content-related questions and structural planning. The workshop offers space for exchange, feedback, and first concept drafts.
The workshop will be facilitated by Epona Hamdan:
Epona Hamdan is a cultural organizer, curator, and producer. She currently works as a researcher and producer at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in the department for Science, Digital, and Media Practices. Her practice is shaped by the question of how speculative approaches can be connected to material realities and how counter-publics can be created. She studied Theatre Studies, History and Culture of the Middle East, and English Philology at Freie Universität Berlin and specialized in “Curating in Performing Arts” at the Paris-Lodron University Salzburg. Alongside her own projects, she has collaborated with institutions such as Oktoberdans Festival in Bergen, SPIELART Theaterfestival, and the performance collective Rimini Protokoll.
