WORKSHOP: Self-Marketing & Positioning in the Art Field for international and BIPOC artists

The workshop “Self-Marketing & Positioning in the Art Field” with Beatrace Oola (apya productions) is aimed at Artists in Exile and BIPOC artists. It focuses on the question of how artistic positions can be articulated in a visible and self-determined way within a field shaped by power structures. Participants will be introduced to practical strategies for self-representation, communication, and navigating institutional contexts.

For international and BIPOC artists only.
(BIPOC refers to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.)

The workshop will be held primarily in German or English, depending on participants’ needs. Contributions in the other language are very welcome, and whispered translation will be available.

*Short bio: Beatrace Angut Lorika Oola is an independent interdisciplinary curator and creative & cultural producer, with a focus on fashion installation, performance, and editorial work. She is also a guest lecturer in the Design department at the University of the Arts Bremen. Through her creative agency (APYA Productions), she advises companies and institutions. Since 2012, she has been working in the cultural and creative industries, promoting the visibility of contemporary fashion designers of African descent. She is also the founder of the digital information platform Fashion Africa Now.

This workshop is part of the “INTRO” program organized by the Ministry of Culture and Media, in cooperation with the DfdK.
